F Barre Chord Thing

I have given up. I can't do this damn barre. My fingers just refuse to go that way. Please give me suggestions on how to make it work, or an alternate chord to play.

My friends use tool every other word, leads to some funny situation.

barre chords are crappy to learn but when you get them down they are irreplaceable. I was fortunate to learn them within my first month of playing but just within the past couple of months I can actually play them well

There was a post a while ago about how barre chords ARE replaceable, with 4note voicings or something like that, i found it interesting.

barre chords are stupid, one ought never to even learn them, 4-note voicings...
