Going to a studio this weekend.

Can't wait. I know the guy well, and he has this amazing studio. Thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment. (He showed me his vocal mic - $2,000)

But yeah, I'm pretty excites. I'm working on this instrumental piece, so I'm going to record it there. We plan on spending a few hours fixing everything and making everything sound well.

So yeah, I'll post the recording Saturday evening, should be fun. :)

I hate you Pat! :D
That's awesome though.
Ask them if they can stereo mic your guitar. If done right it makes it sound amazingly better than a single mic.
You could also have them blend the pick-up and the mic.
Dammit I want studio time!
Good luck with the recording though.

Yeah, he has these two mics that I recorded something on a few weeks ago. Their each $700, and he showed me the incredible difference when it is recorded in stereo.

And...He'll most likely be accompaning with a banjo. (It sounds beautiful with him on the banjo.)

Right on Pat, if anyone deserves it, it's you.

You're the best I've heard on these boards.

Yeah, it's going to be awesome. He's moving away in a while, so he wants to get me set up on recording gear and stuff. He's going to help me out with that too. Ill probably record some more material there in due time.

its really amazing how good the studio can make things sound. my buddies band flat out sucks, but when they recorded some stuff in a studio, it sounded 10x better

The studio isn't making them sound better it's the engineer. He can basically cut and paste until there's a decent track there.
Real musicians will sit there and do take after take until they get it right all the way through. Sure the nice equipment will give it the best recorded sound possible but the performance itself is genuine.
