the tab tells me nothing i can't already hear. i dont think you wrote well becaue i dont see much "writing" to this. there just really isn't much composition to it, its like something someone dicks around on when they are drunk.

but do not take this the wrong way, im not saying you are bad player. you just really aren't experienced enough to start writing music. but that doesn't necessarily mean you should stop writing either. but you have got to be willing to improve if you want to write good songs. if you are just "dickin around" as you say, then you wouldn't be trying to write music. the desire to write is one and the same with the desire to get better, because it forces you to be creative.

keep trying and posting, you will get better if you stick with it

did you look at the tab? its more than that. the backup is 3 chords. i may have misled people when i said in the opening post "just G F C" its not. the riffs are in those scales but otherwise its pretty open.

Fatjack: i will continue to post and im writing more of my own stuff now... i plan on posting a jaunt later this week with like the main riff from a couple songs ive been worknin on to see what people think and to see if i should pursue the idea further.

stop trying to convince people what you "wrote" is something unique and worthwhile

it doesn't matter if you call them "backup" and play some lines over it, the basic structure is still just three chords. you could write a brilliant melody, but the harmony would still be quite simple

some people here give simple music such a negative connotation

that's like saying a haiku isn't worthwhile poetry and i think it's an incredibly narrow-minded perspective
