I don't want anyone to be discouraged posting up dave songs...when you're learning sometimes you don't hear things that other people do until they are pointed out to you. I don't want anyone to be discouraged from posting up dmb tunes for the purpose of helping them learn them...especially those who are still developing. That's basically the reason this site exists.
Having said that, you post an original, you're fair game to whatever somebody's opinion is. I think if you're posting an original, you should ask for comment on specific areas. It makes it a lot easier...a short book could be written about any given original if you aren't asking for specifics.

Thanks everyone (Matty)Matty Boom wrote:just for the record, because it isn't said enough, we ALL appreciate you taking your time to help us outMWR wrote:There's an obvious degree of sarcasm to my posts which I pointed out.
Considering the fact that helping people play guitar is why I come here, not to talk about bullshit in nDMBc, you should shut the fuck up Del. I think that was a pretty unfair judgement.

yes i do appreciate every1's opinions but it is not pointless ofr you to be critiquing my stuff at this point cause i learn from it. there shouldnt be 2 seperate forums cause then all everyone is gonna say is "you belong in the noob forum" or "get the hell out of the regular forum" and its just going to seperate the people that post on this site. ill be sure to include in my next post's subject that my stuff sucks so if you believe you are too high on you're pedestool to give me some pointers you can steer clear.
but i think the point should be that we are all dmbfans and we're all guitar players, im still better than any guitar poser that plays nothing but greenday and nickelback with the overdrive cranked. (nothing against those bands) Ill keep on tryin my best and ill keep on improving, im sorry im not at your guys standards.

You should disregard my previous comments as I misunderstood what MWR was saying. I thought he was saying he didn't want people less talented posting, but that was not the case. As a person who still has a lot of work myself, I was not putting down your playing ability.praisedave wrote:yes i do appreciate every1's opinions but it is not pointless ofr you to be critiquing my stuff at this point cause i learn from it. there shouldnt be 2 seperate forums cause then all everyone is gonna say is "you belong in the noob forum" or "get the hell out of the regular forum" and its just going to seperate the people that post on this site. ill be sure to include in my next post's subject that my stuff sucks so if you believe you are too high on you're pedestool to give me some pointers you can steer clear.but i think the point should be that we are all dmbfans and we're all guitar players, im still better than any guitar poser that plays nothing but greenday and nickelback with the overdrive cranked. i wasnt reffering to you,i just wanted to let it be known that i dont think their should be seperate forums based on skill level. i agree with most of what uve saidmlb1399 wrote:You should disregard my previous comments as I misunderstood what MWR was saying. Thank you. That was the point I was trying so unsucessfully to get across.mbgreen wrote:I don't want anyone to be discouraged posting up dave songs...when you're learning sometimes you don't hear things that other people do until they are pointed out to you. you got a funny way of getting it across by saying i suck and that i shouldnt be posting. i want to be critiqued in the area of songwriting (smoothness, hook, etc.) and guitar playing (not DIFFICULTY cause i wrote the song nobody knows how difficult or easy it is to play cept me, but playing style and missed notes etc.)MWR wrote:Thank you. First of all stop making multiple tracks. If you can't hold the rhythm on one track, two is gonna make it sound really sloppy. Again, there's this little thing called panning. If you are going to use more than one track you have to pan the lead and/or backing rhythm to the sides. Not all the way to the sides but if they're all right in the middle you can't tell whats what, it sound muddy as hell.
I don't like the riff in the very beggining. The stumming patter is also rather annoying although I think it just needs to be polished.
The most pleasing part of the song is the riff that starts at 0:35. At 1:04 your strumming pattern should change. There's an overall sameness to the whole song, it doesn't really go anywhere.
You had some good ideas at arond 1:40-1:50 but they were poorly executed.
Grade: C based on how long you've been plaing. D in general. There ya go.
