So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

could do it that way, and trying not to be an asshole, I guess you could do either way. IMO, though, it sounds more like the the version Dave plays when you omit the 1 note from the chord in my version (see my post above). But like I said, whichever sounds better to you. I feel the fist version gives you a taste of "the stretch" though.
Regardless... Keep trying, you will get it. 6 months ago, I could not even play the simple Watchtower intro. You will get it!
Much luck, brotha!

Yeah, I will be the first to admit that if you want to play it like Dave does and make it sound exactly like Dave does than you should do it the way of jkanter tabs. I just posted an alternative way for him just so he can play with the song, because it is much easier. A lot of times, just be able to make progress helps. But eventually you should learn the way Dave plays it. I learned the way I posted from the tab book in L@LC, and once I could play with Dave that way, I started working on getting it the right way.

Jkanter's way is definitely the right way to play it. I just posted an easier way to play in case you wanted to play along with Dave and couldn't do it the exact right way. It's a good way to start playing but eventually move to the right way.
