So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

weve already discussed this... a long time ago... most dont think tim is the best, one of the best yes, but he lacks much compared to others.

arghh...again...

Steve Howe
Andy Latimar
Andy Powel
Robin Trower
Pat Metheney

Tim is great on acoustic accompaniment, but much is desired when compared to ginats like the 5 above...what gets me is when people say Eric Clapton or Santana, or Hendrix...they are all second rate in my book, and WAY overated...great, but overated to the hilt...

You have some good choices there Firedancer, very good choices. I am going to throw in Trey Anastasio from Phish. I lack the knowledge of every guitarist out there, which totally brings my post down to nothing, but this man absolutely amazes me.

I will always be biased toward guitarists when I like their sound. I haven't really found a talented guitarist that I have total disgust for, but when it comes close, it's all down to preference, even though some have obviously more skill than others.

I think it's pretty stupid to say who the best is. You can sy who isn't the best.. but not who is.

If you're original, distinct, hard to duplicate, and do something nobody else has done, in my books, you're one of the best..

Tim Reynolds is a phenomenal player.. great techinically, and he makes some beautiful music and solos... but there are literally so many guitarists in his mould that it is difficult to consider him the best.

yeh my friend's are obsessed with it, so they made me watch it, but I'm glad I did, cause it was really good. I had to watch a few times, and check out a couple of websites to really get it, though.

Donnie Darko is possibly one of the most confusing movies ever created. Also one of the greatest pieces of filmography I have ever seen.

on a note of what this post was originally about, would anyone say Walter Becker fits in this category. He's pretty damn good, but my knowledge of incredible guitar players isn't that wide.

I have heard a lot about that movie, however, I have yet to see it. I should pick it up sometime.
