I always thought grey street, grey-blue eyes, and some devil had more relevence to julia grey than anyone or anything else but who knows

I always thought it was a song written about a wife or girlfriend getting abused by her husband or boyfriend.

Oh look at how she listens, she says nothing of what she thinks; which could mean that she isnt aloud to talk or say what she thinks or she'll get the crap beaten out of her

she just goes stumbeling through he memories, staring out onto grey street; she looks through her memories looking at all the good times in her life and misses be happy. And she looks ahead and all she sees is more crappy life,or greyness.

she thinks hey, how did i come to this, i dream myself a million(thoasand, depening on version) times around the world but i cant get out of this place; she looks back and is like how did i come to being this way and in this situation, i always dreamed of something better but i cant seem to get out of here to get the better life

theres a lonliness inside her, and she'd do anything to fill it in; shes lonely and hates her life and would do anything to change it

though its red blood bleeding from her now and it feels like cold blue ice on her heart; shes getting beaten by the guy and shes bleeding and shes thinking that she loved the guy and it hurts her heart sort of thing

when all the colors mix together....to grey; all the goodness in her life fades away and all thats left is crap or grey

she wishes it were different, and she prays to god most every night; quite self explanitory

though shes quite sure he doesnt listen, but theres a tiny hope in her he might; nothings changing so she thinks her prayers are being answered but she just hopes that one day he might listen and make her life better again

she says i pray,but my prayers they fall on deaf ears, do i have to take it upon myself, to get out of this place; nothing is changing so she is wondering if she has to do it herself

anyway you see the point. I might be wrong but It was just a thought.

Soem Devil, imo, is about his father or his siter. They both died and listen to the lyrics. "I wish I was dead and you were breathing"

Dave grew up in South Africa, and the rest of the world spells grey with an "e." He's been married for a long time with kids...I don't think he's still lamenting over some girl he was in love with when he was in his early 20s and busy tripping on acid and the like. I doubt they are related.
