Before I even had my guitar I had figured out the simple Watchtower Intro and the Two Step chorus bassline by ear on my girlfriend's guitar. First full song on guitar: Halloween. I'm a little bored with it now, but I still start all of my practice sessions with a quick Halloween run-through, followed by Grey Street, and a couple of hair band power ballads that I'm too ashamed to mention. But Halloween will always be special to me.

First song was Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd. First tune learned from tab was Don't Go Away Mad by Motley Crue. :oops:

I don't remember what my first Dave tune was. Probably Ants or Crash...

wow, you guys are learning some hard songs to be your first...i mean, crash? that took me like 2 weeks after i had started to even look at the tab and figure out i couldn't play it. my first song was a christian song actually called the heart of worship. i didn't really like the song that much, but it was A G D and Em. so it was easy enough to be my first

my first song was likely a pennywise tune...i was playing bass guitar in a band that played alot of punk covers and then i picked up on how easy it was to take the base note and play a power chord so i bought an electric guitar...then the whole world of Nirvana and Smoke on the water and stuff came about!...i played only power chords for the first 5 years of playing (pathetic, eh?) and about 6 months ago i started playing open chords when a guy at my new job turned me on to playing acoustic (before which, all i played was electric)...with all the guitar experience behind me i've picked up all the other chords VERY easily...i think the first dave song i learned was Ants and then Crash (like most of you)

My first was Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd it was very simple and the only trouble i had playing it was the rhythm becasue i held the pick like a cripple between the side of my index and my thumb. My first Dave song was Christmas Song then LIOG then Crash basically all in the same week I was on a role. My next I'm going to get fucking billies down if I die trying.
