Maybe I'm a little crazy....

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

For that part of Spoon do I play the verse riff or do I strum the C. The riff doesn't sound right to me. I know I should strum it for the "Holding.." part.

the tab on this site is dead on as far as i can tell. but you only play the C for three beats i think if you're counting one two three four one two three four. The E thing, then the D then the C then the E then the G#/E. The C is really quick and you don't hold it long at all.

I meant that singing that part while playing the riff didn't seem to go together. The guitar is dead on though.

i think im confused about what you're talking about. if you're talking about the verses, then the only thing i can say is play and sing along w/ the song to get the rhythm down. if you're talking about the holding part, when i play that part i don't just strum it, i actually pick it a little and i always hit the C root note when starting the word holding and then pick around on the other 4 strings until i get to holding again at which time i hit the C root note again for the first syllable..by the way, i can't spell. so if i jacked up, oh well. hope that helps

Code: Select all

E:--------2-------0-----------------------0------------2--------------3----3--
B:--------3-------1-----------------------1------------3--------------3----3--
G:--------2-------0------------1--1-------2------------2--------------0----0--
D:-5-7----0-------2------------2--2-------2------------0--------------0----0--
A:-7-7------------3------------2--2-------0---------------------------2----x--
E:-----------------------------0--4-----------------------------------3----2--

Maybe i'm a little crazy, but laughing out loud makes the pain pass by...
Does this help? (You may have to copy and paste it to Notepad to see it correctly)

If you are still having trouble, just keep playing the same riff over and over again to the CD without singing it, so you can get the routine of the riff down.

Billy you helped a ton, I got it now. It just didn't seem to fit play the first two notes and singing. Thanks for lining it up for me.
