Bartender

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Hey - Use a P2P program like Kazaa.

If you don't have one goto:

http://www.kazaa.com

Do a search for Dave Matthews Storytellers. That is where I got my copy at.

I love the Bartender from Storytellers but its different from how he plays it now. It's all good though - learn it from that and you'll be cool

I wouldn't go by the old dave and tim style. What u should do is do the hammer-on then take ur finger off the 5th fret, play the A string fretted on the third fret for about one beat and put it back on the 5th fret. Just follow leroi's horn.

the old dave and tim style was bizarre...it made the song sound demonic or something... :?

I liked the one from Storytellers, I think the effects Tim used were really cool and added a lot to the song.

Bartender Strumming Pattern'ed

Unread post by Chumpnet » Fri Nov 29, 2002 12:52 am

Since it was so easy to tab the strumming pattern for Bartender and also it was requested, I also added the sequence of riffs to play through the song. The transitions are just moving between the riffs.

I strumming pattern'ed it from the Virgin megastore video. Dave doesn't play the outro so I didn't include it.

Code: Select all

Tabbed from Virgin Megastore
Drop D Tuning

Bartender
Dave Matthews Band

Note: The first four strings are played as muted strings.

Ants Marching has SHNs of the show. It's a pretty damn good recording.
