question

the site says "Dave's first Chet was a SST
Standard, complete with plastic soundhole,
used in the "What Would You Say" video

but the SST doesnt have a soundhole, never has, the CE does, but its a clasical style. also chets dont have knobs on the front, dont even have knobs, have little turny wheel things on the top.

go to dave's gear on this site, go to the chet atkins, the guitar your asking about might be the last picture there

Are you sure it never has? I really have no idea, but dave used that guitar like ten years ago, maybe they don't make it anymore like his yamaha, that's why it can't be found

i just know the chet has been around since the late 80's and the site says "this guitar with amazing computer design from 1987" seems like original, the one in the pic, and the current sst look nothing alike too much, so it doesnt seem like theyre the same guitar.

That is an early chet. Thye had plastic soundholes and knobs on the front of the guitar. I saw one not too long ago at GC It was from like, late 80s, early 90s i believe
