How do you Drop the D for Crush?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

No...you will be tuning DOWN the E string until it sounds like the low D string but it will be an octive lower. Then I check it by seeing if the E string at the 7th fret matches the open A string.

Use the thumbing D and E method until it sounds the same, it works on your tone as well, like I was tone def and would practice doing it by ear and then checking with my tuner, now I can tune anything!

what is that mcdonalds thing?

and i tune by ear...i just hit the e a d strings as an open chord. then lower the e until the chord sounds good good good

Thakns for all your help. Very good of this little community of ours! lol.
But in the end i had to go to my local guitar shop and ask the dude( who was very helpful) But now i have a much better idea of what to do for the future. Thanks again.
Just while im here, im buying a new guitar at christmas time. The guy in the shop recommended a tanglewood. Are these generaly know as good guitars?
