d--------------4------4----|
a-----------0--5----5------|
e--3-----------------------|
Ok, so thats the intro i'm trying to nail. I'm fairly good at it, but an wondering which fingers i should use with my picking hand
From the AOL sessions video i think this is what i'm supposed to be using
Code: Select all
e-------------------------------------|
b-------3------3----------------------|
g-------0h2----0------------0------0--|
d-----------------------4--------4----|
a-------------------0---5------5------|
e--3----------------------------------|
T 1&2 1&2 T T&1 2 T 1 2
Are those the fingers i should be using to fingerpick this song? keep in mind i'm slapping just like he does in the AOL vids

Use what ever fingers feels the most comfortable to you , you don't have to do like everyone else does , just do what feels right to you instead .

He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

doesn't really matter what you use though, if it sounds good.
Its like... getting two birds stoned at once. (Ricky-trailor park boys).

I'm surprised that you're asking about that part of the song. It's the part that comes right after the intro that always fucks me up.
The part where he sings "Just stuck inside the gloom". That part always gets me. I read in his column in GWA that he uses his thumb to fret a note on the A string, which is pretty difficult.

I think the timing of the slapping is very difficult to get. I had the hardest time with that.
