i mean in general. you like to play a chord or something, then do that slide up to the next, lots of open strings...its just your style. i like it a lot, i'm just saying that its there almost too much.
for example...the beginning and verses of she was like stardust and that's the way. now i'm not saying these two are the same song, or that either of them are bad. all i'm trying to say is that they give off the same feeling, and they sound similar in terms of style. just the way you play your chords, you strumming and the slides from chord to chord. you like to do the same thigns from song to song it seems...
REMEMBER, this is just my opinion...

no, it's cool. a few of my progressions are very similar. i like to ascend, and descend... i play in a lot of open tunings as well, so, for instance, if i'm in G, i'm just working around that chord most of the time, so you'll always hear those open strings in different songs. that's the way is a zeppelin cover, so when i learned that song, i learned some chords in open G for the first time. i used what i had learned from that song, and expanded on it, and created cupid's tour de force. a lot of my stuff has a very different feel to it. it was for instance is a straight ahead ho down =)Trippin Hillbilly wrote:Mikey is a fool, don't listen to him.

funny story. i met ricky schroder's assistant at a pub last night where i was playing. she's in town shooting a movie called black cloud. apparently her dad is a music big wig in nashville... she loved me stuff, so i sent her some demos and this could be good. she sounded very excited about it all... so, i'm trying not to get my hopes up, but you never know what could happen.

Hey Jake... I have a question for you.
Is Heather's Song actually about a girl you know? or is it a fictitous story. if its based on something real, i'd really like to hear about it. great song.
p.s. just downloaded the new stuff on your site, i'll listen today.

i wrote it a year and a half ago right before she left to go on a cruise ship to do massage therapy for a year. before she was my wife. she came back 6 months later cause she hated it the whole scene out there, and i proposed. we got married in august.
