So I've been attempting to record some songs using an acoustic soundhole pickup into a USB audio interface that runs into my laptop. I get the song recorded, but when I go for playback, it sounds "hollow." The guitar isn't "full" and it just sounds really flat. I have listened to some of Pat McInnis's stuff and the guitar sounds really full. I was curious if anyone knows what type of effect I could play with to achieve a better sound. I've experimented with reverb, but that's about it. Any help would be great!

Question for Pat or anyone else who can answer it....

Single coil clip in pickups often don't give enough "oomph" when used with any amp or a USB hookup.
The Fishman I use is a clip in and it's pretty good but I always use a direct box when playing live to cut down on hum and other things.
Sounds like you need to use some sort of preamp to get that extra punch.
Good luck.
