you know it. It's tear-jerker for sure.Swe dmbfan wrote:Beauford33 wrote:I heard the The Red Rocks version of Ants on the radio and went looking for it. Since I didnt know what it was called at the time I just bought the first live CD I saw. Turned out to be Listner Supported. I kinda threw that in the back of my CD folder and never really thought about it. It wasnt until my drum teacehr gave me the Carter Beauford video to watch. First song he plays is #41. Loved that. I found my LS CD and saw that #41 was on there. Listened to it and loved it. I then looked for Ants again, but listened to CDnow.com sound bytes to possibly hear the song. First CD on the search for "Dave Matthews" was Remember Two Things. First song on it is Ants. Went to Sam Goody and it only had Under the Table and Dreaming. I got that. Didnt like the Ants on that so much but I loved Satallite and What Would You Say. Went out and bought all the other CD's that were out at the time.
THE END!Beautiful story.
Oh that song

Actually it started to impress a girl, heh. Sad, I know. I downloaded "crush" just so I could know kinda what I was talking about but then I ended up thinking it was awesome. Hell, I probably listened to crush on repeat for about a week. My family noticed my growing obsession and bought me "Crash" and "live at chicago" and between #41, The last stop, and Trippin' billies I got hooked...bad.
Also, Crush was an obvious choice for one of the first songs I learned on guitar when I started a year and a half ago...

Jay-Z has said that Crush is one of his favorites. Or, he really likes the song. I read that in a Dave interview where the interviewer had mentioned that to Dave, and Dave was pretty surprised.Raif2032 wrote:Actually it started to impress a girl, heh. Sad, I know. I used to hate DMB. Most of the songs I had heard on the radio were Too Much, So Much To say, what would you say which I still dislike to this day. Sometime during my freshman year in college '96, I was riding back from work with some friends and they were playing this amazing instrumental song. I asked who it was, and they said Dave Matthews Band and the song was Two Step. I next went out and got a copy of Crash. When I bought L@RR, that is when I became completely addicted.

I went to college in the mid-west in the early 90's, no one had heard of DMB yet...
in 1993 my roomie went to a fraternity function out east and was given an original copy of "Remeber Two Thigs" (on the old Bama Rags Label)...we loved Tripping Billies and listened to the CD quite often. I didn't really become a big fan until I saw a live show a few years later.
