OK, sooo i need a little help choosing.
So as ive said here before, im going to upgrade my whole setup soon. As far as the amp, and pedal goes i kinda knew right on that i wanted them, and the mixer as well... But throughout all this ive been kinda goin back and forth between getting a Micheal Kelly Studio Dragonfly .

I hear theyre not all wood, but they have a fishman.
but up until late august i had planned on getting an epiphone chet
http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?Pro ... ctionID=10
Id get it in a natural finish, and after a few months add a fishman and many other upgrades.
my thing is, im gettin all this stuff up for 2 reasons 1.)to have a better personal setup and stuff for when im just playin around the house. and 2.)as im begining to play with more people and being one of the few acoustic players, its hard to find an equilibrium when jamming. If i turn my amp (electric amp at the moment with an acoustic guitar) too low all your hearin is the guitar, if i turn it up, you can hear me better, but i get a lot of feedback i dont want, that can ruin a jam or recording. Ive wanted the chet for over a year, and the michael kelly i was interested for awhile but now im kinda luke warm on it...
sooooooo vote.

I say get the chet. I have the Epi version as well as the Gibson. I love the Epi. Its not as good as the Gibson (of course) but it is the best 400$ you can spend on a acoustic electric that has no feedback. If your looking for the Chet, I strongley suggest ebay. They have a lot of Epi Chets their and you can get them 100 dollars cheaper. They say "used" but the "used" chet I got, might as well have been brand new. No pick marks and no dings.

i played the epi chet, but not in comparison to the gibson. i dont really think that matters considering that i thought the epi was inferior in comparison to many other guitars...Beauford33 wrote:Have you even played a Epi Chet and compared it to the Gibson?fatjack wrote:epiphone is the devil, you couldn't possibly buy a more flawed guitar brand
Its a great deal if your looking for the the Gibson sound.

For $400 and a guitar that has no feedback and crazy-easy playibility?fatjack wrote:i played the epi chet, but not in comparison to the gibson. i dont really think that matters considering that i thought the epi was inferior in comparison to many other guitars...Beauford33 wrote:Have you even played a Epi Chet and compared it to the Gibson?fatjack wrote:epiphone is the devil, you couldn't possibly buy a more flawed guitar brand

although i agree with you josh, filmdude likes the epi chet and if he likes it's sound, that's what matters, not whether there are better guitars for the money or notfatjack wrote:i could think of many 400 dollar guitar that i would rather have than an epi chetBeauford33 wrote:For $400 and a guitar that has no feedback and crazy-easy playibility?fatjack wrote:i played the epi chet, but not in comparison to the gibson. i dont really think that matters considering that i thought the epi was inferior in comparison to many other guitars...Beauford33 wrote:Have you even played a Epi Chet and compared it to the Gibson?fatjack wrote:epiphone is the devil, you couldn't possibly buy a more flawed guitar brand

If you're talking about the electrics end of it, he said he was going to get them replaced with the fishman electronics..the wood and such in it will hold up decently..I saw an epi chet from the 80's at sam ash a while ago, other then yellowing of the guitar, it was still in near perfect conditionfatjack wrote:i have no problem with the sound, im more concerned with its reliabilityDMBFan63 wrote:although i agree with you josh, filmdude likes the epi chet and if he likes it's sound, that's what matters, not whether there are better guitars for the money or notfatjack wrote:i could think of many 400 dollar guitar that i would rather have than an epi chetBeauford33 wrote:For $400 and a guitar that has no feedback and crazy-easy playibility?fatjack wrote:i played the epi chet, but not in comparison to the gibson. i dont really think that matters considering that i thought the epi was inferior in comparison to many other guitars...Beauford33 wrote:Have you even played a Epi Chet and compared it to the Gibson?fatjack wrote:epiphone is the devil, you couldn't possibly buy a more flawed guitar brand
