Unread post by i-am-me » Tue Sep 21, 2004 8:01 pm

haha, jk. i'm not good enough to act like firedancer and jason. haha. but i thought it would get attention. anyway, LIOG. and yes mike, i used timmy fills cause i like them. haha. it gets muddy at times, and i fucked up a chord or two in the end jam. but whatever.

critique the shit out of it. thanks.

Whatever floats your boat.

Nice job on this Mikey.
I'm gonna give you the same advice I gave filmdude which is put a little more passion into it. Play it like you mean it. This song should have a nice bounce to it and your playing it just out of the pocket and a little too slow.
You didn't manage to hit that "I'm blown away" riff cleany but it's hard so no worries.
Overall it was really solid.

yea mike, i guess i forgot that smiley huh? haha. that was a joke. i did use them, but that sounded bad. and you are completely right about the passion thing. i did one take, and didn't really care if i messed up at all.

Could you elaborate a little more though? What do you mean just out of pocket (that i haven't got it COMPLETELY down yet?)

Sounds like you hit some sour notes in the intro. But other then that, solid guitar

In the pocket means your playing like a machine with perfect rhythm, tempo, and accent to the proper beats. A machine with PASSION!

Thats really what your striving for but don't get me wrong it's hard to play in the pocket thru a whole song. It's what sets the pro's apart.

got ya. haha. i'll work on the passion part a lot.

and by the way...its so strange to see you with an avatar. its always been so plain next to your name. And unlike most other members without avatars, it didn't bother me. maybe its cause of your posts usually lacking smileys and what not, but i like it. haha.

dude...totally diggin the title bro...as for the cover, very good playin...you got the song nailed pretty much, it's just going to take you just playing it over and over again like you love it! I've played Daves songs prolly more than Dave has played Dave's songs.

a bold statement... considering that dave has played like 4000 gigs from c'ville to cenral park... not to mention the fact that he wrote the songs. But i kno where your comin from, it took me like 4ever to get some songs down like Warehouse.
