question...

Unread post by felsh15 » Mon Sep 20, 2004 2:19 pm

out of curiosity, how many people are irritated by or like for that matter listening to dmb in the parking lot or car before a show? i personally dont like it...i find it somewhat sacrilegous. but thats my opinion and i know this topic is fairly split as far as opinions go.

hmmm, generally i could give a shit :) not to sound like a smartass in your thread, but i think it doesn't matter. but, that's just my opinion i guess. i listened to a little dmb on the way to the gorge this year, but listened mostly to radiohead if i recall correctly.

Doesn't bother me, although I personally don't do it. I listen to other stuff so that I'm not sick of it when I get there :)

It bothers me, I hate hearing the songs right before I see them live....it's like watching porn while a chick is knocking on your door wanting to fuck. Turn off the fucking porn and nail that bitch!!!

thats definetly an interesting way of putting it...im kinda the same way. see at alpine valley the dave shows are an allday parking lot party...so when your there for about six hours pre show, all you hear all day is a repeat of 41, two step, typical situation, crash...etc...etc it gets really annoying, but like i said its just my opinion, whatever floats your boat

I try not to listen to DMB for a whole week before the concert but that never happens. The day of the show I'm pretty good at not listening though.

One year (I think 98) at the Woodlands they played Stay (wasting time) on the house music before the show started. That was kinda funny.

What about playing it on guitar before the show? I am planning on getting to the Kohl Center early to just sit on my trunk and play. Maybe meet up with some dmbtabs guys there and bounce songs off one another. :)

What irritates me more is the stupid little whores who were behind me singing the whole fucking show. These were not your typical hot girls at a DMB show they were obsessed in a way that I only wish didn't exist. Sorry I had to vent.

you don't like when people sing at a concert? i think it adds to the...not really interaction, but the atmosphere. i don't have a problem with that.

I don't know. It's fine to a certain extent but it really gets obnoxious after a while. They were right behind me and sang every word in tandem. I want to hear the band not the band and two little mousy girls right in my ear the whole show. I guess I'm just a bastard.

jk man. really. but you're telling me that you never sing a long to a song at a concert? i'm not ashamed to say it, i sing at a concert. unless the song blows, or the song is really really good, and i've never heard it before or something like that.

I sing so much and so loud during a show that I'm hoarse afterward. But I've been up in the first 20 or so rows for a lot of my shows, and most everyone up in those sections are doing the same thing. If you haven't experienced a dmb show from way up front, you should do it once in your life. Its completely different than being far away.

I don't mind people playing it in the parking lot or whatever. I don't usually play it on the way to the show, but it doesnt bother me.
