is there a method to play grace is gone?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

is there some sort of way to play grace is gone without sounding metally challenged? If so I would love to hear it.

can't really explain how to play it. Just watch videos of him play it and try to play along. You'll kill yourself if you try to follow the tab exactly, use it as a guide. Other than that you just have to feel the song and rhythm and let it flow. I had the hardest time with that song then one day it just happened.

I can't count how many times that has happened. But yeah, you just have to get the feel of it first before you can really try to start playing it. My fingers never wanted to work for this song, but you just need to keep at it, and you'll get it soon enough.

Get a metal slide, it will give you some twang of a steel guitar.

I believe it's in a different tuning though....so if you're thinking of doing the lap steel intro straight into the rest of the song, it's not gonna happen.
