I usually stay out of these conversations for a bunch of different reasons but this one has caught my eye. I LOVE POT. Period, end of story. I smoke pot for ONE reason only, becuase I like it. I don't smoke it to be cool or because other people are doing it. I enjoy the feeling of being high. Oh yeah, and I can play songs just as good high as sober. That's for damn sure. It's all about knowing the song.

I can sit down, smoke a bowl....not get beligerany and chill. I am perfectly capable of going out and doing errands.....whether it be shopping for food(always fun high...ha) or going to the mall. I can do anything high that I can do sober. Some things obviously aren't meant to be done under the influence of any drug(alcohol or pot), but I can say for SURE that I am 100% capable of doing A THOUSAND more things high than I am drunk.

You make generalizations about something and it gets you nowhere. All it does is prove that you don't have an open mind. Why do you say all people who smoke pot are losers??? Is there a reasoning behind it? No, it's jsut becuase you don't like it. I personally don't do coke and have never tried it. I think it's disguisting and snorting anything is just not my thing, but I know a bunch of people that do do it. Do I care??? NO, I don't care what anyone else does. It doesn't affect me. Unless they are close to me, then go ahead and do whatever the hell you like.

While you may not think they are as amazing as older stuff....the guitar work is more intricate and the lyrics are amazing. You say lyrics mean nothing to you and that's your choice.....but I can tell you for a fact....a great guitar riff doesn't hold anything without lyrics. I know this because I can't sing and regardless of the riff I am playing for people, it gets old when it's just a riff or a song w/o words.

Now, as for your statement of let's see where it gets you and pot makes you stupid. I go to college, pass my classes, and run a website that has at most 4,500 people a day go to it. I have had an internship working for a MAJOR investment bank in New York City......writing computer code for the past 2 summers. Oh yeah, January 2002 they re-hired me as a consultant for 3 weeks during my winter break. I have this internship again this summer and should be offered a job making A VERY, VERY NICE SALARY.....PLUS signing bonus. All this has been done while recreationally smoking pot(minus my 1yr drug testing stint). Am I stupid??? Am I a loser??? By your closed minded comments, I am.

He wrote pro-pot articles under the name "Mr. X" Search and read about him...you'll find it.

Again, I don't smoke marijuana, but I know lots of people that do. And some of them are your stereotypical moron potheads. But some of them are absolutely brilliant people who are well aware of what they are doing, are not addicted, and suffer no observable ill effects.

In the quantities that they are consumed, regular cigarettes and alcohol do far more damage to the human body than a single joint does. Marijuana does contain more cancer-causing agents than a cigarett, but you don't smoke 20 joints a day. Alcohol is far more dangerous because not only does it affect you, but it affects your judgement in such a way that you can become a danger to others. Marijuana doesn't do that.

See - weed has it's benefits! Like helping your concentration (although that is more of a shot-in-the-dark type thing.. Sometimes you win.. sometimes you lose.. I guess that's just life in a nutshell).

And Jason, man, you gotta chill out.

I used to smoke daily, sometimes bi-daily, sometimes more (yes it was bad, yes it was a drain on my wallet, yes I wasted a lot of time doing nothing during high school)... But nobody is "stupid" for defending marijuana, nobody is a "fucking idiot" for doing that drug. A lot of people do it because a lot of people enjoy it. Provided you don't go overboard (which I admit, I did, and that did influence me.. well, that and my girlfriend not liking it when I'm high all the time, to stop) it can be a lot of fun. The fact is, marijuana, in moderation, is less harmful than a cigarette - even less harmful than alcohol.

It has its drawbacks, and aside from personal preference/enjoyment there is no "pro" to it.

But god, all I see is you trashing the substance and the people that do it.
