I'd be more impressed with a 15 year old that can play a hard SRV song than a 30 year old.

your very talented and you know it, this post is sort of pointless other than a nice boost of confidence for you. which is very necessary at times i know, but you don't want to become complacent.
the best thing anyone ever said to me about guitar was some asshole that was pissed off because i beat him to a girl. i was playing guitar (i was 16 or so) and he just flat out told me i sucked. he really couldn't do much better but everytime i stop learning new shit i remember that and use it as fuel to push myself to learn more. obviously you have a shitload of talent. but just jokingly i'm going to say "you suck" for you to use as fuel. it works.

i want to hear some of your own writings in the future though on the critique forum. keep it up man, i think most people here wish they started at your age, or were comparably good at the same age cuz i know i wasn't.

Hey, i guess i have the same situation. i'm 14...people tell me i'm awesome...i konw they're wrong...I learn quickly, and don't have to try hard to emulate a sound. my ear has been getting progressively better over the last almost 2 years (how long i've been playing), but compared to so many of you guys, i'm not that good.

The thing is filmdude, we have to start recording our shit, and putting it up on these boards. i trust these guys' opinons more than most people i know in my social life. Its just i have such a shitty mic and stuff that inever record anything. i wanna start again.

Shit no... I put up three one minute songs that were all off tiiming. Probably due to the buffers in the computer... But! No one said this. Everyone said "Good job." :?

Sure, that's nice.. But I wasn't after a condifence boost. I wanted some help on how to fix stuff.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong. But being told what to play isn't what I think makes you good. Once you write some serious stuff, then I think you can be good, but as long as you sit on the computer and read tabs you aren't, in my eyes, great, or anything. It's impressive that you can play that stuff, but I don't think you should get an ego from it.
Eh, I started writing music three years before I bought my first guitar. I guess I kind of did things backwards. Ha.
