count beats measures and rhythms? is that what you mean??


i'm also a vocalist, doing chorales, stage groups, musical productions, and so on. so i've got a wide variety in music. i also play a little keyboard/piano.

Im strictly a drummer/guitar(and vocals). Have my band and I do the drums and guitar for. Though live, I just stick with guitar and vocals. Count as in time signatures. A lot of people here dont get it. They need to have a basic idea to get further.

holy crap. how can no one know time signatures?? 3/4, 6/8, 4/4, etc?

I don't know how I could deal without time signatures. For the love of God I just sometimes drive around counting in my head and tapping on the wheel or something "1-2-1-2-1-2-3" "1-2-3-4" making beats and stuff. You NEED to know it and people refuse to learn, going along in their little tab shell. I don't think I could play without it. It is so essential to having a tight band.

not for me, i dont care what carters doin, im playin daves part, but i got a band and we want to play jimi thing... given it was a stupid question (our drummer had never heard of zepplin and was drummin along perfectly) so i prolly doesnt need them.

what songs are you listening to that are in 7? or that Dreaming tree.

i prefer sheet music. it has time signature, vocals, chords, leads, etc. cant go wrong.

Tehy expect to be able to play songs without understanding the thought process and how they are set up. 4/4 is a basic standard (most people know that) but ehy dont understand others.

cause its some of the hardest drumming out there, and he was able to do it right after hearing the song...

and i can read music, i tihnk he can too, i just wanted to know if he did anything weird in it.
