Crazy Easy ****Tabbed from Video****

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

i'm almost 10000000% positive that intro isn't right. there are all kinds of notes that i'm hearing that aren't tabbed there.

i play:

Code: Select all

e---------------|--------------|
b---------------|-------(0)----|
g--11-11-11-/8--|--6--4--x--4--|
d--9--9--9--/9--|--7--5--4--5--|
a------------x--|--x--x--5--x--|
E-----------/7--|--5--3-----3--|
though if you tabbed it from a video, i could sort of see how these slightly different voicings/fingerings could have been mistaken for what you tabbed:

Code: Select all

e--------------|
b--2--0-(0)-2--|
g--2--0--x--2--|
d--2--0--4--2--|
a--0--x--5--0--|
E-----3--------|
i'd say it's pretty clear from what Stefan is playing that this measure is A-G-D-A

the rest of it looks dead-on though :)

just cuz i feel like it, here's a little mp3 of this song i was doodling around with today:

I believe dave does play the intro on the higher frets as Ad suggested.

I just got the video in question and the tab above is perfect for the verse and chorus....EXCEPT that the last chord in the chorus is an A chord...not B.

As for the intro....it is correct, except Dave also plays the first chord and usually switches to 7x9xxx half way through playing that first chord. I also need to double check the last chord of the intro becuase I think there is a little discrepency as to what is in the tab above and what I think I see.

I'll post more later...peace guys

okay, John sent me the video clip he tabbed this from and here's what i got.. technically, he's right about Dave staying on the same chord for a full measure, but it's actually because he (or stefan, or someone) messed up (it definitely doesn't sound the way the intro's first measure usually does, and he gets a funny look on his face).. the second time through it's clear that he switches chords, but it's tough to see what he's actually playing. anyway, here's my tab for the intro:

Code: Select all

e-------------|-------------|
b-12-12-12----|-2-----0--2--|
g-11-11-11-/8-|-2--4--x--2--|
d-9--9--9--/9-|-2--0--4--2--|
a----------/x-|-0--2--5--0--|
E----------/7-|----3--------|
i'm pretty darn sure this is right, just listen closely to any recording and it's relatively straightforward that these are the chords Dave's playing. as jared mentioned, the verse and the chorus are dead-on, though i think i hear an A being played in the second half of the measure in the verse that leads into the chorus. my full tab, just for completion's sake, is:

Code: Select all

Intro:

e-------------|-------------|
b-12-12-12----|-2-----0--2--|
g-11-11-11-/8-|-2--4--x--2--|
d-9--9--9--/9-|-2--0--4--2--|
a----------/x-|-0--2--5--0--|
E----------/7-|----3--------|

Verse:

e--4-----4-----|
b--4--4--4--4--|
g--4--4--4--4--|
d--6--4--2--4--|
a-----------2--|
E--------------|

Measure before chorus:

e-------|
b--4-2--|
g--4-2--|
d--4-2--|
a--2-0--|
E-------|

Chorus:

e-----|---------|
b-(0)-|------2--|
g--4--|------2--|
d--0--|--4-5-2--|
a--2--|--5-5-0--|
E--3--|---------|

Excellent tab man. I just checked out the video hardcore and everything you have there seems dead on to what Dave is playing except the first chord of the intro.

The chord you have sounds perfect and if played there sounds just as good(if not better) than what Dave is playing.....except in the video, you can see Dave's ring and middle finger sticking up during that chord(55 seconds in) so it's impossible that he's playing 3 notes there. I think he's playing what you have w/o the 11 there...but it may be the 11 and not the 12. I'm really not sure and will be getting a different video to confirm that for the tab on the site.

Also, like you said it's almost impossible to see the 2nd chord Dave is playing in the intro...but just from listening, what oyu have sounds perfect.

GREAT JOB! I love seeing other people use my "technique" of tabbing from video's. Granted it's not a very hard technique or anything...but it ensures accuracy which is most important!
