Say Goodbye

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Say Goodbye

Hi all, first post here.

I'm having some trouble getting this intro down on the Live at Luther version. I have a tab book but I belive it to be wrong. The part I'm referring to is after this part below.

===========
===========
===x=======
===x=======
===x=/11====
===========

Which is

==========================etc...... ========
====9==9==9===9============etc...... =====
==9=9==9==9===9=====9=9=9==etc...... ============
==9====11===========9=9=9==etc...... ========
=====================11===etc...... =====
=========================etc......

Anyone have this Cherry Lane Live at Luther tab book? the tab doesnt show any mutes in this section but I'm definitly hearing them. If I'm not crazy does anyone have the correct tab for this version? Is the rest of this tab right?

I also downloaded someones video for this song off of a link and I'm not sure what tab thats based on but it too has a part similiar to the one I'm talking about and he's muting parts of it. I just cant decipher what his hands are fretting. The chords look similiar but the way its played isnt what I've got in this book, and what I've got in this book doesnt seem to sound like my CD.

Anyways I'm new to Dave on the guitar so I could be wrong here, any help would be nice.

This is the intro they are playing on Luther College...

Code: Select all

E:----------------------------------------------------
B:-------------------9--------------------------------
G:---6--6/7--x-------9------11-------------6--6/7--6--
D:---x--x----x-------9------x--------------x--x----x--
A:---4--4/5--x---/11-11-----9--------------4--4/5--4--
E:-5-5----------------------10----10\---/5-5----------
   2             (3)              (2)  (2)
I didn't get it at first either, but it's the regular intro on the main site, not the first one, but the one right below it. So I hope this helps. :-)

Yes, there is two, they made another. This one has
#41, Tripping Billies, Jimi thing, Lover Lay Down
Cry Freedom, Dancing Nancies, Typical situation
Warehouse, Say goodbye, Halloween, Two Step.

I'm assuming the tab on pat's videos are off of this site right?
