Off-Key Satellite Intro

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Off-Key Satellite Intro

Unread post by grock » Fri May 02, 2003 11:45 am

Ok so i have been looking for this tab of the intro D+T had been doing for satellite on this last tour. i saw it at purdue and it really grabs your attention cuz it sounds familiar but just not quite right. it is really awesome and you gotta download it or B+P for it. anyways it is all off-key and dave sometimes did a little improv singing over it. it was played for 5 of the shows.

anyways, i have no idea how to submit a tab. so i will post it here and you guys can put it up if you like.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.

i went to the contribute tabs and all that but i couldn't see where to contribute them to. i registered and everything but i just gave up. and for the fingerings, No i can not give you the fingerings. i have no idea. i would guess they are exactly the same. at least that's the way it looked (of course i was forty rows back and only tabbed this by ear and it doesn't make sense to go and use a pinky anywhere in there, of course when have we known dave to make sense of his using a pinky...)

EDIT. I found the sign in page. i just submitted it.

Yeah. I posted that tab a couple days after the show. Here's an old thread.

I basically just slowed the audio down and tabbed it from ear...It should be right on.

Funny enough, I use "windows sound recorder". I play it thorugh the speakers and record it into sound recorder, and when I hit "decrease speed", it decreases the pitch by one octave (So i get the same notes) and also decreases the speed, by one half I believe...or one third I am not sure. Slow enough to pick out the notes.

There is a plugin called Chronotron for Winamp that is excellent.. it'll do DSP to keep the pitch from varying despite the tempo change.

Anything that's 5th fret is played with 1st finger. All 6th frets are 2nd finger, and all 7th frets are 3rd finger.
