Which was tougher for you?

So which was tougher for you to pick up, crazy stretchy chords and odd fingering, or timing and crazy strum patterns?

For me, it was the timing and strumming. What about you?

After about a year of "playing" I can make almost any stretch, but I still have trouble with timing and some strumming patterns.

Timing and strumming for sure. After more than a year of playing this style I can stretch to reach any chord pretty well but getting the strumming pattern on some of these songs takes a lot of practice.

i guess playing the drums first really helps you out because i have aboslutely no problem with timing and strumming.

i have a liitle trouble with streches and strange fingerings, but at this point ts not that big of a deal.

uh not really either, ive always had awesome timing when i play, even when i started, and the stretches i got pretty fast, i have big hands and could stretch them, so both came pretty easy.

i never said i was perfect, when i started playing guitar i had gotten off a year of band so i knew stuff, and had rythm and timing down... and im sorry if being in band helped me stretch my fingers. and i have big hands, cant help that.

Oddly enough, for me I had trouble with that strange timing thing, until I started singing with it and it naturally seemed to come together. I think it was the inflections that helped. I do that early now with other songs, even if I don't really know how to play it. Seems to speed things up a bit in learning, and also helps you avoid mistakes in your timing that you later have to relearn. That really sucks. Doing that with the Stone right now. Uhg...

I have had it equal for all except for Two Step. I couldn't get the right strumming for Two Step down for a few months.

I dont find the stone to be an odd timing. its in 12 which is a basic rock time. That and 4. If your having trouble with it, I suggest breaking it into 3. Makes things abit more simple.
