Whit and Ike Cover- I'll Back You Up

Unread post by isaac » Fri Aug 20, 2004 4:09 pm

Levels are honky because my computer speakers totally made it sound different than my headphones. I was on both guitar parts, and Whit did awesome vocals. We were going for a "singing back and forth to each other" sort of thing, giving it a bit of a different take on the song.

some parts it sounded like you were sort of rushing your vocals whit.. that sounded really great..I love when both of you are singing.. sounds amazing

the rushing part i'm talking about is the first verse.. it's not that noticable, but i noticed it was a bit rushed

Great job guys...very good guitar and when the two of you sing together it really makes the song...for me at least! I'm saving this song and putting it on my MP3 player, you guys really did the song justice! We really should have a DMBTabs tribute where everyone plays a song and we can all put it on a CD. I know Nancies did it a while back and I just missed doing a song on guitar for that. It would be cool though, you guys who record and post songs frequently should try to get that together!

isaac and whit....I have to add that what you did changed the whole meaning of the song to me.
When Dave does it, my first impression is that is someone expressing his love for someone that may not particularly be recipricating that love.
Listening to your version, I def got the feeling that it was a two way expression of love...which becomes moving when both of you harmonize (and gave me a few goosebumps).

Now I am not at all implying that you two have a thing going on....I'm saying how nice it is when a song can take on a diffent meaning like that.

Again, well done!!

I have been on the boards since the begining of DMBTabs and have tons of submitted songs on both my hard drive and archived to cd if anyone needs them for a project like this.

Please use a separate thread for this topic though, because I don't want this to get sidetracked away from isaac and whit's song.

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.
