An' another scale question

What does the "b" mean in the interval?

intervals: 1,b3,4,5,b7

its not a letter b, its a flat symbol. a minor scale has the 1st, flatted 3rd (b3), 5th, and flatted 7th

More specifically it's how the scale relates to the major scale. So if C major has no sharps or flats than C minor will have 3 flats (b3, b6,b7). This concept is directly related to key signatures and it helps to think this way when/if you start learning modes.

You can also look at it like a chord. The example you gave would be a min7thadd4. If the 3rd and 7th were not flattened than the chord would be a maj7add4. If the 3rd wasn't flattend than the chord would be a dominant 7. If the 3rd is flat and the seventh wasn't you would have a min-Maj7 chord which sounds like it belongs in a horror movie.
Once again thinking about chords in this way can be a great shortcut. You don't have to memorize each and every chord just the base and then you can apply different alterations.
