Thanks, i just realized the chord i wanted was A5.. and I put A7 on there by accident..
Its like... getting two birds stoned at once. (Ricky-trailor park boys).

An easy way to figure out 5 chords is take the root...

Use A5 for instance..
Take the ROOT (A) and count five over....

1-A......2-B....... 3-C...... 4-D...... *5-E*

So, the a5 chord is just an A and an E on the string below!

gumbo thats not a good explanation at all... you didnt explain how to count... all he sees could be you going from letter to letter. you didnt explain:

1/Root W 2 W 3 H 4 W 5 W 6 W 7 H 8/Octave

examples:
C D E F G A B C
G A B C D E F# G

where W = whole step between them and H = half step.

ALSO:

A7 is Adom7 NOT Amaj7. for the dom7 a b7 is required NOT a 7. b7 = half a step below the 7th interval.

You know, DMBFan, that's how I always played an A7, but when I actually looked it up, it was X02020... weird. Which one is it for real, just out of curiousity? Does anyone have a definitive answer?
