5/4

Unread post by MWR » Fri Aug 13, 2004 7:30 pm

So I've had this riff for a while now and just realized that its in 5/4. When I came up with it I never intended to write something in an odd meter and to top it off it switches to 4/4 for a couple measures before going back to 5/4 all without sounding the least bit awkward.
Sorry for the random post but it's strange when you happen upon something so uncommon.

Isn't it a great feeling when you write a riff in a goofy time signiture? You feel like master of the universe.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
