So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I was wondering if DMB will ever make a studio version of 40 on their cds or if they are against it? I really love that song and i would love to have it on an album. I they will not, why? Does anyone know?

You never know, they might. It took a long time before Halloween got released on a studio CD, and I don't think anyone expected that. #40 is kind of short though, so I doubt that they would devote an entire track on a CD to a song that short.

yeah but look at #36, it could become another better song. i really like everyday especially with the crowd getting into the "hani hani's". and that was from #36. and bartender was written like back in 1996 and it came out in 2002. they have like two full albums of unreleased songs! so really i think it is a good possibility. and it could always end up in an album intro as well.

bartender isn't that old ...

I hope 40 doesnt get released. It'll ruin the song, in my opinion. I love the way the lyrics are improvised and length is different every time he sings it. Thats one of the best aspects of the song. Think raven. Lyrically inspiring, ever-changing. Official release -> sings it exactly the same way every time now, and its boring.

yeah you're right. i was thinking of the evolution to DDTW and i know bartender has a lot of it's origen in the same place. but yeah Bartender is 99 at earliest.

captain is basically the same song as crazy which had been around since 96 and then in 2000 is when it finally was called captainraven had it's riff back in 95 and angel's chords have been around since 96.

that should read improvised...like make up lyrics on the spot type improv. Not improved, even though if you pronounce that with the right emphasis I think its still a word, sort of. Sorry for the confusion. I changed the original post to reflect that.

Could you post the lyrics from Yoshi's?

#40 5/10/95

share the time again
i spend with you
a friend is always good to have
but a lover's kiss is better than angels raining down on me
i dream of you at times when you're by my side
dream you're not just like you are
so troubled and doubling my pain
just with a grin or tear
you shed for me
i wish that i could climb inside your mind
and spend some time in there
i’d hug and hold you
and mold you into what i'd like
but no I can't do this
just a kiss
to spend the while by you
and a familiar smile and voice

while away
then you leave back and smiling
on you
most everything you do for me i say
and the while let's make away
and feel warm
in the middle of this storm with you
with love and through

angel
oh well
oh the friends they say how she’s good while she’s right
i say and if when you were again
when you were a friend
before the lie lie
this one i say
say it oh yeah
yes i do end with you sometimes

but while i do my best
but all the rest i leave to you
can't wait for the hour
and when two things become this
always
all this trouble for a kiss from you i do it
and then you come up smiling
and i'm thrown
until i get a little storm with you i do it

always
oh love lover line up well yeah
found if us abound
if leave it you go
oh well i was stole
oh well i'm rolling
the road to you is long
and i've been on it for a while
but i need to rode away
i'll take a break

oh cause i dont want to leave me away

always
and you are
all there
time
i’ll give in
and feel
tired

Thanks. I didn't realize jkanter was referring to the same lyrics as those on the tab. What are other lyrics, then? I've only heard that version.
"The future is no place to place your better days."
