Congrats on the new guitar. I'm jealous to say the least.
Now my opinon on pick ups:

The reason Dave uses fishman is because it's bright and helps cut through the mix. In fact thats his main incentive with all of his guitar gear. Nobody around here plays stadiums with a five piece band so it's not always best to copy somone that does.
I've looked into a lot of pick-up's and I think I'll end up getting a B-band AST+UST combo. It's extremely feedback resistant and yet it retains a transparent un-piezo sound. Not to mention the only holes thats need to be drilled are for the endpin jack and the bridge.

I suppose thats why Daves signature Martin is a Dread
WTF are you rolling your eyes at me for?

That was totally uncalled for ...
I don't think he is rolling his eyes at you
I think he is ... and I don't know why ... unless he's a closeted dreadnought lover :)
Oh, you know, you're right, he is. I didn't realize you made that post..hah

anyway, what he's saying is a dread should sound like dave's stuff, but like I said, you basicly need a martin to get daves sound with a dread
Well my LoPrinzi doesn't sound like Dave's Martin and Dave doesn't even play the GD thing now does he? He's a Taylor guy ... So the fact that he played one several years ago matters about as much as if he wears boxers instead of briefs :)
I was rolling my eyes at the fact that you thought dreads werent good for playing dave. I am a dreadnought lover (not a closet one, why would anyone hide that fact) Actually he does play the GD thing, thats what he used for the entire D&F tour, he uses it to record in the studio, he played it in the SDL video and if theres an upcoming D&T tour you can be sure he'll be using it then. He only uses Taylors with the full band. A Thank You

I've never had a problem with you Jaime and I don't know why your nose is out of joint but that's your prerogative.

The fact of the matter is that a dread and a grand concert are not going to sound the same and that's why I want both.

I swear to god I don't know WTF is wrong with people but everyone is looking for a fight on the GD internet.
