Fuck Riverbend indeed..but in a different way than you inteneded.
We drove 7 hours from Michigan, and quite frankly, I think we got a lackluster show.
Let me explain:
Contrary to what someone here said, the band was not very energetic. Carter wasn't having too good of a time, it looked like. (I was on the lawn, but had binoculors (sp?), and he wasn't very smiley or anything). People may think that I'll back you up is great, but in general the song seems awfully bland. It was a mellow set, they would follow an energetic song with a slow one, which didn't keep the concert moving along well. Sugar Will live was very draggy and slow-moving.
There were a few highlights, though. Too Much was the best version I've ever heard. The Stone was excellent, and Crash into Me was surprisingly good, too. some songs were ok, like Joy Ride and Typical Situation, but the placement of the songs was just bad.
All that said, though, I thought the show was...ehhh, below average.

We drove from Michigan as well. I thought the energy was pretty decent, but I haven't been to that many shows. So Much To Say-Too Much-Typical Situation was KICK ASS!!! That was the best version of SMTS I've heard yet. The only think that I thought was a little weird was the Crush/Stay encore. Stay was great, but it would have been better as the first encore.
Then they could have followed it with maybe Billies or Jimi Thing.
And yea, Sugar Will drags a little bit in concert. I guess it's just one of those songs that has to grow on you for a while.
Other than that. GREAT SHOW!!!

if dave had farted into the mic i wouldve been pretty stoked too. but stay was worse in my opinion than a fart as an encore. farting is cool, overplayed closers that arent that good are not.

We saw a group of michigan people driving there during a rest stop break, and we saw them on the road again and showed them our busted stuff Cd to show that we were fans as well. Did you have a gold-ish van with "DMB" written on the back of it?
Anyways, I thought SMTS was excellent, but the Too Much had to be the best I've ever heard. I thought Crash was good, but I was hoping for Ants, Billies, or Watchtower instead of Stay.
And even though I already have 3 live verisons of Sugar Will and I knew how the song went and everything, it still seemed to drag. It just doesn't seem like a concert-song, ya know?

No, we were in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee with a Firedancer sticker on the side window. I made up a little cardboard sign that said DMBTabs.com but in the rush to get going that morning I forgot it. We sat in the pavilion on the right side about 10 rows from the back. Pretty decent seats. I wanted to walk around the parking lot when we got there to see if anyone was playing guitar. Unfortunately security was herding everyone out of the lot so I never got the chance.
Did you guys stay in town that night? We stayed at a Holiday Inn in Eastgate. There were a shitload of people from the concert there.
I agree with you about Sugar Will. That turned into the piss song for a lot of people around us.

Damn, I didn't see you then. Ahh well.I think I saw some sort of jeep with a firedancer in the back window with a "vote kerry" sign or something, but that's the cloesest to your car.
my bro and I almost brought guitars, but we didn't. And I was on the Boyd side of the stage, the closest we could be on the lawn, we still couldn't see though
We stayed about 15 miles north at a Fairfield inn, which was actually in Kentucky. I think we saw one couple that had went to the concert, or at least it looked like it, but besides that it was pretty vacant.

Edit: 15 miles south
