Im thinking of going to target or something later, and getting some wrist weights to put on my arms when i practice guitar to make myself play faster...

does this sound like a good idea??

haha. no. its just htat winglet's comment was from office space when sameer is commenting on the "jump to conclusions mat". budlite also threw in his office space line. haha.

It could be good, but you may overwork your hands/wrists and hurt them and then have to take some time off.. up to you though

yeah, so did I..plus i fucked my left hand up skateboarding..slightest touch hurts the shit out of it
But even with the weights, you might end up hurting your wrist if you don't gradually work them to speed.. maybe purchase finger weights from musician's friend.. they seem like they might help

Use the weights, just for a little bit each day, or if you want to do long weight work outs, take a day of playing w/o weights. Sort of like lifting real weights.

i remember a study on the finger weights for piano players, where they found that the weights actually caused more problems because of the unrealistic weights or something.

it has something to do with how many different ways the fingers can move, and when you use weights you should have very defined motions. like bicep curls or squats.

anyways, the thing to take away is that finger weights are bad. practice will work better.

i was thinking of wrist weights though, is it the same?
to make any difference you would have to put on so much weight that it would do more harm than good.
