Hello everyone!
I'm sure this has been posted, i did search however didnt find anything that satisfied my search. So I have a couple of questions. I'm really anxious and have been wanted to teach myself how to play a guitar. What would be a good guitar for someone just starting out, i'd really like to not pay more that 200 if possible. Secondly, what would you say are some of the best websites to use to teach myself how to play?

Welcome brutha. Seagull is another good "cheap" guitar, I have one and love it. If you wanna learn DMB, then there's no better place than here! BAR NONE!! If you wanna get started with other stuff, then this site tought me quite a fricken bit. http://www.guitarnoise.com/columns.php
The collumnest David Hodge does excellent articles on songs for beginners and he posts audio to help you get the feel of the song. Honestly, this site is great for "online lessions". Have fun on your guitar journey man.

rizzah...welcome friend!!

As for guitars....go try a Wasburn D10. Good guitar for the money.

I'm not really sure about online guitar lessons. I took lessons for a couple of years (back in the day) when I first started out. You may want to consider that option. I'm sure the others here can help you out on the website stuff.

Anyway, we are all here to help each other, so don't be afraid to ask questions.

Peace

By the way rizzah, do you like Wu-Tang?! You're screen name makes me think so! The Wu rule hip hop.

Check out http://www.guitarnoise.com . They have a whole section of free audio lessons on "easy songs for beginners". Good luck and stick with it. All of the frustration in the beginning is well worth the pay off in the end.

alvarez makes good guitars, but they also make some POS so try them out well, and then play some $1500 martins and taylors, if it doesnt beat them, keep looking.
