Proudest Monkey

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Easiest Dave song to play, hardest to sing with. Anyone agree? Can anyone play and sing it at the same time?

I agree with both of yas. funny you mentioned it though, I've been practicing Proudest Monkey for the past few days, like singing it while playing and getting the lyrics down. its tricky but I think I'm making progress. It'd be a sweet song to cover if I can figure out the Tim solo that's in that song that's fuckin' sweet.

Typical Situation is another example but I think is easier than proudest monkey :o another tricky one is Loving Wings.
good, and you?

I used to say the same thing about the same songs, it seemed like the melody was not completely structured over the chords....

but then after playing around with my own lyrics (especially on P.Monkey)...I started recognizing that there is a pattern to the lyrics and I now can find the balance between singing and strumming....

WtWE is tricky too but if you breakdown each verse into how many revolutions through the chord pattern he plays, you'll be amazed at what you can remember...

just keep practicing (I know, everyone says that) but it's what it takes!!
