I almost ordered one of those a couple of years ago when Taylor first mentioned they had purchased the grafted walnut. After checking with 3 different guitar stores around town for prices, I was told that all the standard Taylor walnut guitars would be grafted not claro unless it was customed ordered because of the lack of claro. I didn't order one because I found a used W65 for about $800 cheaper than a new one.
Your guitars back and side are definitely grafted and like I said before, that's not a bad thing. Those grafted walnut guitars are so unique that in time they will be worth a lot more than the old claro walnut guitars.

i don't buy this story at all. it's 2000 bucks which is like 1% of the average price of a house and hardly worth selling for that. He's gotta be a pussy to give up to his wife so easy.

i find that kinda sad.

Marriage is all about give and take. Sometimes in life one has to give...even if it hurts. Putting ones own selfish desires aside for the good of the couple, in my mind, is not being a pussy at all. More people in this world need to do it IMHO.

I totally agree with this, but at the same time, I know my wife will understand how big music is a part of my life and wouldnt ask me to sell a guitar when its only going to bring in that small portion of money. Unless I had many guitars or we were very, very hard up for cash. We dont know his situation or anything, whatever the reason, hes selling it, lay off him.

I agree Jayme. I don't know why everyone is 2nd guessing him. The only reason I posted what I did was when I was 1st married and we bought a house, I remember how strapped for cash we were....and the little money (comparitively) that guitar would bring in would have made a BIG difference to us. I don't think my wife would ever ask me to sell my guitar......but she did put the stops on me buying a DM3MD...twice
