Does anyone here have a Martin D-17? I've been thinking about getting one for some time and would like some opinions.

why pay $1650 for a mahogany guitar when you can pay $1800 for a Lakewood M-32? it makes no sense!

hmmm. sounds tempting but I've never played a Lakewood so I wouldn't buy one. There is a Lakewood dealer about an hour and half from me though. Not to mention that I like the warm sound mahogony has.

Maybe so, but the first problem is that the M32 has a grand concert body style which I don't like. I could try Lakewood's dreadnought but I really don't think it's worth the hassle

then you can send it back and they reemberse you for shipping/total refund (if wanted), however i doubt that would ever happen.

you shouldve seen me when i was looking for electrics. first it was fender (when i was stupid), then i think it was epiphone maybe, then esp, then carvin, then my godin. speaking of carvin - i was seriously considering getting one because of the great things ive heard about it. only carvin shop is in california, yet most of their business is custom orders over the internet. seems somewhat familiar to lakewood and a bunch of other unknown brands. by the way, i would like to announce that i hate florida guitar dealers because they suck and carry nothing.

Thinking Fender for an electric is not stupid. Thinking Epiphone is! (At least, thinking any Epiphone that I've ever played... they've all been total junk.)

lol epiphones were good for about an hour. i played one at sam ash and thought wow that doesnt sound too bad. then i picked up the gibson counter-part and i thought wow that epiphone sounds like crap. (looked like crap too)
