So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I am having trouble with the timing on this part of jimi thing:
Code: Select all
e|-----------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------|
G|-----(0)------------------(0)------------|
D|--2-------4------4-----2-------4------4--|
A|--0-----------2--2-----0-----------2--2--|
E|------3---2---0--0---------3---2---0--0--|
Take a Jimi Thing Just to keep me swingin'
I have really been studying Pat McInnis's video (which are AWESOME, btw), but I am having trouble getting the strum pattern. I also notice that there seems to be some "extra" notes in the video.
Can anyone offer suggestions on how they play this?

The extra notes that you may be hearing might be the 024 chord. In the versions I listened to, (Dave & Tim SD Bonus Disc) he just muted it. Just remember to hit the 2 and the 4 seperately. (in the F# chord.) Just mess around with the strumming/muting of the 024 chord. That seems to throw alot of people of. If you're still having problems, let me know and I'll make a small audio clip, and slow it down.

Sure thing. If I don't have it up by tomorrow afternoon, PM and remind me.
