The Stone "chorded up"

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

The Stone "chorded up"

Unread post by Maldito`Tuelho » Tue Jul 20, 2004 11:09 am

So, I've been able to play this song quite correctly, but I really suck when it comes to theory ( ). So I was thinking if you guys could help me by "chording" this song. I know the verse starts in Dm, and I`m preety sure about the chorus too (F, E, Dm, C) but I was thinking in recording it, and a good idea would be to do it with two guitars: one with the original riif and stuff, and the other just with the chords.

Thank you already :D :D

(oh, and sorry for my english, I haven't done classes of it in a long time so... )

hmm, for the chorus, I think I play F, Am, Dm, C.

for the verse, I've tried this before, and I got as far as Dm-Gm-Dm-C I think

the transition part "and if not I'll go..." could be an A minor
Fear my recording setup:
Martin DX1
mtstudio
Computer Mic

"Ah, music - the joy the mind derives from counting without being aware that it is counting" - Leibniz

"Celebrate we will, for life is short but sweet for certain" - Dave

I'll help out by posting what fatjack is talking about:
if you really want to play the verse to the song using only chords here they are (in Dave style no less):

Dm
E: X
B: X
G: 10
D: 7
A: 8
E: 10

Gm
E: X
B: X
G: 3
D: 0 (yes an open string! ah!)
A: 1
E: 3

B flat

E: X
B:X
G: 7
D: 3
A: 5
E: 6

C
same as b flat just move up 2 frets

in order to play this properly you have to realize that the song has a 6/8 time signature and all four chords get a different amount of beats

Dm: 6 beats
Gm: 12 beats
B flat: 3 beats
C: 3 beats

thats it if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask
Shows Been to: 7-17-02, 12-15-03, 7-20-04, 7-5/6-05
