My First Two Posted Covers

Unread post by Lou » Tue Apr 15, 2003 7:31 pm

ok.......this takes major balls on my part to let u guys hear these....because of a couple of reasons:::

1) I'm not nearly as good as y'all.........but im 16, so i dont expect to be there, although some of u are barely older than me, if at all. But i know these aren't nearly as good as ur guys covers.

2) SHITTY quality. I have yet to buy myself a mic. So all im doing is recording through my computers speakers, which, as u can understand, doesn't exactly help it sound professional.

3) I tried throwing in some solos on both of em since there's no vocals and thrwe in some improv jamming on watchtower.....i can't solo for the life of me......but it throws in some life to the song.

PLEASE dont yell at me :( i jus figured maybe its time some of the lesser-talented post some shiznit.........peace y'all

Hey Lou...

Im listening to LIOG...the main part sounds pretty good. Seems like you've got the muting down pretty well....although maybe i just missed it but I think you missed something out....Did you play this part?

Code: Select all

E:-2-------------------------------------
B:-3------------------1-------------------
G:-2--------2---------2--0h2--0-----------
D:-0--2--4-----4--0---2----------4--2--4--
A:----------------------------------------
E:----------------------------------------
      1 4 1 4 (1) 4 1 4

Also the strumming on the jam part sounds different but that could just be personal preference...which rocks..
I'm gonna listen to watchtower know and let you know what I think...
The verse on LIOG sounds really good man..

rawk? u? 4? Seriously, now...you lose credibility typing like this. (Not that Lou doesnt rock.)

Having said that, I only got a chance to check out LIOG. You certainly have the basics of the song down. On the verse, I would try to practice strumming the notes a little more, and before you go into the jam sections the verse changes up a bit for a few measures. (The part that was discussed before.) Basically go back and check out the tab on the site, and see if what you're doing matches up. You're on your way for sure, and good job man. Dont be afraid to post, cause it'll help you get better a lot faster. :) [/i]

lol...I don't usually type like that. I was just making light fun of the way Lou sometimes types. I know of him from Nancies. But anyway, I really liked Lou's versions of LIOG and AATW. The soloing is a bit "off" in some areas, but the rhythm section is great. I like Lou's take on LIOG very much.
