Playing at least an hour a day, I change strings at least every 2-3 weeks. I hate the sound of dead strings. I do wish I could change them weekly though. I use D'Addario Lights most of the time too, and they seem to be decent strings. I have yet to buy elixers, but I didnt like the way they felt at the store, so I probably wont.

try the nanoweb instead of the polyweb.

elixers. the coating is much thinner than the polyweb, and they feel more like regular strings. they also sound a little birghter, i think.
