First off, thanks for stealing my next cover, guess Ill I have to pick a new one. Anyways, guitar was pretty good, something in the intro sounds a little off but theres a good chance its just me cuz I had a hard time finding out the rhythm and may have learned it wrong. The singings not bad, kinda monotone with not much emotion but you were able to sing it and play it without messing up which is more than I can do. Overall the singing needs improvement and the guitar/lyrics coulda been louder and livelier in some parts (its a very upbeat emotional song) but it was good regardless. Keep up the good shit.

p.s. did you get my pm? that d&t show is ready to download now.

Hey billywestom,

i just listened to it, it sounds pretty good... I have a couple of suggestions though, the first chord and the suspension thing.. I think you might be missing a mute or two in there somewhere.
Also, in the chorus you seem to speed up the strumming which doesn't sound right to me, maybe you should try slowing down the strumming but keeping the general pace of the song if you know what I mean....it's hard to explain, it might be easier to listen to my version so that you know what im talking about.....if you dont that's cool too, just trying to help...

you can get it from here:

All together it sounded really solid , nice.

Good job on this one, its a tough song. Gutiar work was pretty well done. In terms of improvement, the singing is on the monotone side...you would sound 3x better if you would put some pitch variation in the vocs. Got kinda out of key at some points. I also personally prefer the song a little less clean when played solo (more slaps) but if youre not shooting for that sound dont worry about it. On the whole, it was a pretty good cover.

In the other covers, I thought your playing was good, but the vocals needed work...on this one...I thought you sang the song pretty damn good actually....it's a tough one to sing man...believe me i know  ....the guitar needs work though, i definitely agree with more slaps etc....I thought on this one if you would have let it out, you would have sounded great...hope this gives you something to work with...late

thanks jason...im getting a lot of encouragement on the singing, i'll probably do it again soon...i know i can do better if i just forget about singing too loudly...it just seems weird in the kitchen rather than it would be in a concert hall or something :?

Billy,

GUitar work was good over all.....would be nice to hear some lead but that's a different story. Here's what I would say about your vocals. IF there is anything that I have learned about music and singing in school it's that you have to mean what you sing.....if you don't have your full heart in it, the audience, the listeners, the world is going to know it. Now, don't get me wrong, your singing was actually not to bad, much better in fact than what i've heard from you, but I didn't feel like you even cared that you were singing it. You almost sounded bored, which will in turn make your listeners bored. I guess all I'm trying to say is FEEL the music, FEEL the words, and MEAN what you sing. Does this make any sense? I'm trying not to sound like a dick cuz I really liked the cover.....good work.

A good lead to me is always a plus, but it didn't detract from your cover. The guitar sounded good and full and a lead wasn't necessary.
