phasing out fret slide sounds

would using once of those screens you use on a condensor mic to elimante thas annoying cracks, pops, and other unwanted noises work on one of those mics you use to record acosutic guitar to eliminat the sounds your guitar makes when you sldie your hand up a guitar against the strings...or would it just kill the tone and good sound of the guitar?

It wouldn't do anything if you're talking about a pop filter...It's all about mic placement for that

Avoid pointing the mic towards the headstock. You could also e.q. a bit of it out.

most of those squeeks are in the highend range, if you cut that a bit that at least helps.

what do you mean by EQ it out?

ive gotten that answer for a few of my quesitons and i have nooo clue what that means

equalizer. Use the equalizer and lower the highs a little bit. it will get rid of most of the squeeks

eq it out by setting your highs at a lower setting, or lower the highs post recording. but softening the high highs (like 10k+) will reduce that a bit, also playing with elixers helps a LOT with the squeaking...

practice on your technique...
