Pawn shop guitars?

Unread post by NJPearce22 » Mon Jul 12, 2004 8:20 pm

I was wondering if anyone has any experience buying used guitars from a pawn shop? I am in the market for a new Stratocaster and thought about going to some local shops. I know I want a used American Strat. I was just curious of what kind of a deal that I could get in a pawn shop? Should I look or not even bother?

Don't tell me Fenders suck 'cause you don't like them! I love the vintage tone you get with a Fender! So please don't even bother posting if all you're gonna do is diss on Fenders!

depends on the shop. I got my amp from one, for 70 bucks, pretty decent, prolly stolen but thats OK. Sure go check you know you can get some good deals, and the only fender id ever recomend is a vintage, and you'll only get them at a pawn shop.

What's a good price for a used guitar if I find one? I mean if its vintage Fender. I can probably talk the owner down too? I'm planning on making a musical journey on wednesday to every place around that has guitars old and new! Should be fun! I wish I had one of those vintage guitar shops around here!

or Ebay for $1,500 or more...don't have the cash or the ambition to get the cash to buy that old guitar. If I had that much I'd buy a SRV Strat!
