solid wood guitars

Unread post by mav41 » Wed Apr 09, 2003 4:44 pm

I don't know if it is just me, but it seems to me that solid wood guitars are getting more and more expensive. Every year the price seems to go up no matter what the company. This might be due to the fact that the wood is getting harder and harder to get for the companies. What do you guys think?
Dave Matthews' percussive, drum-like technique, complex chord voicings, and melodic single-note line seamlessly blend with tightly-shaped tunes and free-form jams to create one of the true original sounds of our time.

I dont have trouble getting wood so why should they. har har---But for real---Wood is somewhat of the reasoning behind price increases (for example Brazilian Rosewood) but I would not say the main reason. Consider craftsmenship, brand (American or Foreign), reputation of company (Martin), size, supply and demand, economy, star endorsments and so on. Each one of these reasons effect the price in some way. Just my thoughts.

One more thing, Martin doesn't have to worry about that cuz they have a whole warehouse full of wood that has been maturing there for years.

martin needs to get serious and start working on their frets. if they had the frets of a taylor then theyd be so much better.
