Brand Spank'n New Song

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Mon Jul 05, 2004 8:56 pm

I havn't been able to post songs for a while. Matty helped me out with putting this one up. Also, the reason why I don't spend really any time in this section (even though I would love to) is because it normaly takes over and hour to download a song, on a good day.

Ok, this song is new. I wrote it just 3 days ago. It's also the 3rd song I have ever written with a capo.

Now, the take isn't the best, and it distorts at points. The reason for that is because I am having computer problems. So, please don't judge it on those two aspects. Also, I was too lazy to cut off what sounds like an intro, but it's just mean screwing around for a second, so ignore that.

So, guys, what do you think about my new song? (again, the song, not the quality)

Niiice ranting... It's the first one i've heard from you, to be honest. I enjoy the vocals a lot. The guitar work seems kind of simple, but fits the song very well. Overall, good job. I haven't heard any distortions in the song yet.. alright, heard some cracking at that really loud part you sung.. Nice job overall though bud. Keep them coming. I enjoy this one a lot though

Wow, I'm sorry but I actually thought you were a girl until I heard this song (the avatar fooled me).

The song was really good. I like your vocal range, the highs and lows are something, in my opinion, that I don't really hear too often. It's just a little rough around the edges, but I understand. I kinda shy away at rough parts if I can, but you take them head on which deserves commendation.

I thought that some of the verse lines sounded a little rushed through or spoken more than sung, something like that, but the chorus was very strong and that's a big plus. Keep up the good work, I'd like to hear more...peace

Okay I listened to it and I like it.
I found the guitar a little boring but I enjoyed the vocals.
I've gotta admit that in the past your voice kinda annoyed me but you seemed to have improved alot. Good work Ranting.

I would maybe consider playing it with a pick.
It's cracking up on the loud parts, which you mentioned.
You could get around that by recording at a lower volume and then amplifying the vocal track.
Or you could step back from the mic.
Nice work.

Ranting,

If this is true I apologize for my ignorance. I just assumed from taking a quick glance at your avatar because of the long hair. I also just want to say I wasn't saying it in a condescending manner I had just always had that in my head that ranting thespean was female and was surprised to hear your voice. Peace out

lol. So many people think I am girl when they see that picture. I used to have long hair, there it was just past my shoulders, it got close to the middle of my back. But, now that I am working at a grocery store, I have to keep it above the collar. I want it back to my shoulders, but I have to wait til I have a job that allows it. (also, don't say I should quit for that, it's a huge long story why I can't, and don't ask, lol)

Also, for me, I think men and women are basicly the same, it's society from the first time we open our eyes that plants the stereotypes on us. Me, I embrace all of myself, and I embrace my masculine and feminin sides. Me, I don't call myself a man or a woman, but a human.

So, think that I am a girl, I don't care :)
Think that I am a guy, I still don't care :)

Think I am a squid . . . um . . . lay off the crack a bit.
