Has anyone here had any experience with Larrivee guitars? Do they have a good sound, quality, etc.?

i want to play one, but ive heard from ticohans i think that theyre a middle quality guitar, where taylors and martins would be high quality or something like that

I have heard they are very comparible to taylors and martins and you can't beat the price of Larrivee. I just really want to know if they sound as good as many say.

I've been very impressed with the larrivee stuff I've played. I dont know about the upper end of the spectrum, but I will say dont count them out if you're looking at lower end taylors/martins. (In the $1000ish range) I've played some larrivees that I feel are every bit as good as the lower end taylor/martin guitars, but sell for a few hundred less. Bottom line: Go try em out. See what you like.

Larivees are much better than midrange guitars, and right in the same quality level as Taylor and Martin. I haven't played any Larivees that I really fell in love with though, but that's probably more a function of picking up the wrong instruments as opposed to a bad reflection on the company as a whole. I personally am partial to the cedar top GA Taylors and the smaller non-dred Martins, but that doesn't mean that they're any better than Larivees. It's all a matter of personal taste, and you're bound to get a good guitar buying from any of those manufacturers.

Again, as a whole, the Taylors and Martins I've played have been slightly better than the Larivees, but I've also played many more expensive Taylors and Martins than Larivees. A Larivee is still a GREAT guitar in the end.

I have a Larrivee LO3 and it sounds great....I like hard rythmic strumming, so now I'm looking for a big martin D, but if you are fingerstyle i'd say the larrivee L models are superb....as for the larrivee D's, haven't played enough to get a good idea, but I know they didn't sound bad....and i got my LO3 new for 999cdn, now they are about 1299cdn, but that is still pretty cheap if u are american
