how do you think they decide what shows they are going to put on cd. for example live at luther - do you think dave and tim went into the show knowing they were going to record it, so dave didn't really tell any stories, or did they get out of the place and say to eachother damn we fuckin tore that shit up - lets sell that. i figure the band knew they wanted to put out the central park cd, but what about live at chicago - you thnik dave's like, " dont mess up guys we're putting this out". i wonder about any upcoming shows

hmmmm

they record all their shows on audio, I think they might record them all on video to but not on the grand scale they do when theyre gonna make a dvd out of it. THey have like 20 cameras or something from all angles before a dvd concert. as for which ones are released just on audio like L@LC they might not have known going in, they might have just recorded all of them and some sort of management picked that one like mike said, and they also edit stuff out to make it fit, like davespeak, so he did tell stories there, we just dont hear them on the official release

IIRC, Luther College was not known beforehand and for the CD, they used the guitar audio from microphones set up by Monk and the rest of the crew for their own personal enjoyment (the house feed came from the pickups). Every show since then it has been planned ahead of time.

I think thats the point Granny hasn't been released on any studio CD so that throws that theory out the window that they waited 3yrs to release L@LC cause holloween wasn't released yet.
